I have a hundreds of design which have been created since 2014. Most of them I haven't yet managed to get around to sharing on line.
I am trying to rectify this in 2020, but looking through the archives and posting a few here and there!

I don't tend to include figures in my work, in fact this is only the second time. It seems to have taken a different path, but I thought I would finally get around to sharing this design (on International Women's Day)

OURANIA (Urania) meaning "heavenly" or "of heaven”
The design is created with Urania (Greek muse of Astronomy and Philosophy) sitting inside an Astrolabe holding a Celestial Globe.

Urania was one of the nine Mousai (Muses of the Arts), the goddesses of astronomy (and astronomical writings)
Urania is the protector of celestial bodies. She created astronomy, and she bears stars, a celestial sphere, and a compass
There is a mix of planets & celestial spheres, including the Moon, Uranus, Mercury & stars. (Her namesake was Uranus)
Symbols include; Omega Character & Symbol, Phi Diagram & Symbol, Fibonacci & Golden Ratio
The leaf is the Acanthus Leaf (one of the meanings associated with the Acanthus is that of enduring life ) The acanthus ornament appears extensively in Greek & Roma times.
It also features part of the visual message on the Pioneer plaques. Pioneers 10 and 11 both carried small metal plaques identifying their time and place of origin for the benefit of any other spacefarers that might find them in the distant future.The golden plaque was the brainchild of Carl Sagan who wanted any alien civilisation who might encounter the craft to know who made it and how to contact them. It gives our location in the Galaxy.
It also features an owl.
