The design features a Rhinoceros Scarab Beetle, with its wings open. The triangle is an alchemical symbol for the earth.
Rhinoceros Beetles are a sub family of the scarab beetle family.
In ancient Egyptian religion the scarab was also a symbol of immortality, resurrection, transformation and protection much used in funerary art.
