INK: Strong & Soft Black Etching Ink.
MOUNT: Size: 8” x 8” (Aperture 5 x 5”) Larson Juhl 1.4mm conservation mount & backing board in warm off white (vanilla) with white core (Presented in a protective cellophane bag)
The piece features a scarab beetle, with a mix of stylised ferns & patterns in our signature style (a mix of geometry & organic lines, with fine lines and micro dots)
The scarab is a symbol of enlightenment, spiritual awakening, cosmic forces and eternity.
This piece is printed using a copper etching plate.
Intaglio etching is a labour intensive printmaking technique that involves incising the lines & dots onto a copper plate, with a sharp point. Tone is created though a build of lines in 5 separate etches. When the plate is immersed in Ferric Chloride it will bite into the exposed metal lines.
The plate is then inked with etching ink. The ink sits in the grooves, whilst the surface ink is wiped off. The ink is then drawn from the incised lines, onto dampened paper, using an etching press.
Each print takes a long time to produce.
These highly detailed, intricate plates ensure each print is unique, making every piece a true one-of-a-kind etching.
I print in small editions, keeping the work precious and limited.
Please Note - Each print may vary slightly, as they are individually printed by hand.
I generally have a proportion of the edition already printed.
Please be aware that the pieces may be printed to order. It may take up to two weeks to fulfil your order (accounting for the drying time) In which case, you will be informed.

Items are posted from the UK. The etching may be sent flat in a study envelope or self folding box. It may contain up-cycled packaging. UK, Europe & International charges apply.

If you would like to return something, I have a 7 day return policy (from receipt of the art) The art must be in its original protective cellophane bag. And show no signs of opening or marks.
