PAPER: Hahnemühle Etching Paper. 300 gsm. With deckle edges.

INK: Strong & Soft Black Etching Ink.

FRAME: Size: 9cm. Vintage frame, dating back to the 70s, 80s. The finish has been brushed to create a matt look. Protected with renaissance wax. There may be imperfections and scratches in the glass, due to is being a vintage frame.

The piece features a winter hellebore in our signature drawing style.

Each etching is signed & numbered on the front by the artist, in pencil.
Intaglio etching is a labour intensive printmaking technique that involves incising a design onto a copper plate, with a sharp point. It is then etched in Ferric Chloride, which bites the design into the copper plate. This was repeated 4 times on this plate.

The plate is then inked with etching ink. The ink sits in the grooves, whilst the surface ink is wiped off. The ink is then drawn from the incised lines, onto dampened paper, using an etching press.

Each print takes a long time to produce.

These highly detailed, intricate plates ensure each print is unique, making every piece a true one-of-a-kind etching.

I print in small editions, keeping the work precious and limited.

Please Note - Each print may vary slightly , as they are individually printed by hand.
I generally have a proportion of the edition already printed.

Please be aware that the pieces may be printed to order. It may take up to two weeks to fulfil your order (accounting for the drying time)

If you would like to return something, I have a 7 day return policy (from receipt of the art) The art must be in its original protective cellophane bag. And show no signs of opening or wear.
