MOUNT: Size: 5” x 7” (Aperture 4 x 6”) Larson Juhl 1.4mm conservation mount & backing board in warm off white (vanilla) with white core (Presented in a protective cellophane bag)
The piece features a series of dodecahedron forms in our signature drawing style (a mix of geometry & organic lines, with fine lines and micro dots)
In Sacred Geometry the Dodecahedron is an expression of life and consciousness. It is the fourth platonic solid & is linked to the ethers or universe. It contains 12 faces, 20 vertices and 30 edges, being the closest of the Platonic Solids to mimic the shape of the sphere. Plato described the Dodecahedron as the shape, "God used for arranging the constellations on the whole heaven”.
This piece is printed using a copper etching plate.
Intaglio etching is a labour intensive printmaking technique that involves incising the lines & dots onto a copper plate, with a sharp point. Tone is created though a build of lines in 5 etches. When the plate is immersed in Ferric Chloride it will bite into the exposed metal lines.
The plate is then inked with etching ink. The ink sits in the grooves, whilst the surface ink is wiped off. The ink is then drawn from the incised lines, onto dampened paper, using an etching press.
Each print takes a long time to produce.
These highly detailed, intricate plates ensure each print is unique, making every piece a true one-of-a-kind etching.
I print in small editions, keeping the work precious and limited.
Please Note - Each print may vary slightly, as they are individually printed by hand.
I generally have a proportion of the edition already printed.
Please be aware that the pieces may be printed to order. It may take up to two weeks to fulfil your order (accounting for the drying time) In which case, you will be informed.

If you would like to return something, I have a 7 day return policy (from receipt of the art) The art must be in its original protective cellophane bag. And show no signs of opening or marks.
